I think the crossbeak is just an odd coincidence. I think out of 100+ lav chicks that hatched out of my eggs this season, only one is crossbeak (that I know of).

I have a question about amercuana behavior.... we have 6 of them, and they have always been very very very skiddish, since we bought them as pullets, all the others we raised as 2 day old chicks.. but we have been working with them and they have become a bit more friendly.. however, rather suddenly one of them is (the largest) has had a total change of behavior... very sullen, and sitting by herself in the coop when the others are in the run.. she used to freak out if you went near her.. now its almost like she does not even know you are there... she looks good otherwise.. my husband said its like something snapped in her head... I was wondering if she was getting ready to lay.. and maybe having trouble... any thoughts would be great!!!

I have 2 Ameraucana pullets - about 10 weeks old now. I know one is what is called blue, but what is color is this whitish one?

No not a splash these hens are splash. Except for the solid white
