Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

we called our broody lavender the "bloody-stump-maker" as fingers were in peril!!!
That would look great on a show card. The judge might be reluctant to handle the bird though.

Are these EEs or Ameraucanas? Please help xD

Sorry, I have some Leghorns mixed in the bunch xD
Are these EEs or Ameraucanas, the hatchery said Ameraucanas but I don't know!
Easter Eggers.... hatcheries don't sell Ameraucanas..... Even The new PURE Ameraucans are not Ameraucanas. They lack the breed characteristics.

Does anybody have show quality ameraucanas in AZ? Preferably southwest?
Hi there! I would recommend checking out the Breeders Directory on Ameraucana.org. http://www.ameraucana.org/BreedersDirectory.htm
They have breeders listed by state with their contact information. In fact, here are the breeders listed for Arizona. (The numbers and letters beside each listing represent the colors and whether they sell eggs or chicks, started birds, etc.)

I think that maybe once a week, we need to automatically run the following post:

Your bird/birds are lovely, but they are Easter Eggers and not Ameraucanas. Please don't despair - EEs are wonderful chickens and will normally be prodigious layers of colorful eggs in the blue, green or even pink varieties. Please come over to the EE Braggers thread and enjoy your colorful layer!

I just got a Murray McMurray catalog in the mail yesterday, and they sure aren't doing anything to dispel the "Americana" problem.
