Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

So i have a cockerel or pullet question that is kinda two-parted.... I had never heard of sexing them via comb(single pea vs three rows) so I'm wondering if that's a breed trait or a trait of a specific line.... I am pretty new to ameraucanas....

The second part is to confirm or deny a two birds i think are Roos....

Bird #1 I'm basing roo off of feathers and behavior, but he's from a wheaten roo over a black hen/16 wks

The second is a kinda bleached version of wheaten( I think it has a specific name) the first pic is a few weeks old, but its colors haven't changed... The second is from today... Of its comb

Bird #2 a

#2b

#2c

Any critic is appreciated... I know these guys are technically EE's but I still like knowing as much info as poss :)
Wheatens sometimes throw a nearly white phase.Nobody has explained it that I know of.It has been reported in the past on here. That is not any form of white.Recessive white 1 copy a colored bird 2 copies removes color but it is still there in the genetics.Think of it like a coat of paint.Dominate white 1 copy a white bird with color showing.Like the paint color in silkies.2 copies of dominate white = a white bird but does not cover red as good.Red pyle pattern is a example.

So i guess I'm in need of help with my blues
Now i i know this is a blue.

Now i was thinking this is my splash at first because of the extra black mixed in. Now I'm wondering if this is actually just the male blues coloration or is this a bad blue.

This one i was thinking was a lav. now i was just looking threw the Cochin thread and seen a Cochin that looks exactly the same coloration as this one. Some said self blue and others said splash blue. and if it is my splash blue do they normally have this little dark blue color in them.

Here is some just for fun. sry i couldn't resist

That's what I thought the recessive white did.......thx for confirming that these birds weren't...

Do you know if the color/lack of reds/green etc still means #2 is definitely a pullet, or could it be a roo?

You have a cockerel and a pullet. Yes, they are EE's.

So jean.... If bird #2 is a pullet... That means comb sexing that I've heard about isn't always reliable, right.... Since the assumed 'pulley' has 3 rows of pea combs.....? Also the blond one (#2) came from two wheaten parents... What causes the diluted color?

ETA: thanks so much for everyone's replies

The first 2 Ameraucanas are blue and the third is a splash. For sure

Im a little confused...a breeder in texas has blue, black. lavender, and splash chicks for sale. But lavender and splash arent recognized colors correct? Can i say the breeders name on here? Its not a negative post just confused if i should buy expensive chicks that arent recognized by ABC. I love the Lavender..

If it is a known breeder of quality you have to go by the adage that you get what you pay for.... Meaning quality will cost a bit more. Although not recognized colors they are still a color that people are working on and building the #'s (the Lavs) the Splash will always be a part of the blue black breeding and are very pretty to boot (IMO)

If I breed a blue wheaten to my splash or black, what color chick would I get? Would they still be considered Ameraucana's?

I'm breeding for myself and egg color since I sell eggs for eating. The bluest eggs are the most wanted. My 2 splash/black have a very nice blue egg, but my wheatens/blue wheatens are even a more beautiful color egg.
