Lol, just how i felt about a 2 weeks ago when I found mine. Also from Paul Smith lines mixed with whitmore farms.

I was thinking of ordering some Marens from Whitmore farms are you happy with your chicks you got?

One thing you will find mentioned here is that if the birds were not sold as a specific color of Ameraucana, they aren't Ameraucana.

And if by "free ranged" you mean all together out there, every chick will be a "Heinz 57". Roosters aren't real particular about breeding only with their own "kind". 

The more knowledgeable here can give you specifics, but I don't think an Ameraucana will ever be chipmunk patterned.

Silvers are the only true Ameraucanas that hatch chipmunk patterned... they're also one of the rarest...

Silkies and AMs baffle me. A friend of mine has two silkies that I swear are roosters, and they've been laying for 4 months

Nothing wrong with Easter Eggers, they just are not Ameraucanas.

She is more likely than not to lay a light green or aqua egg, and will probably look much like this hen when she grows up, if a she. Here are two of mine side by side:

My twelve as of now. I think this will be all of the 18 eggs I set. I will continue the 'bator until tomorrow and if I get the nerve, I will do an eggcropsy or whatever it is called. I have the 1 splash or white, 4 black and 7 blue. The first hatched Friday night and the last two blacks about 10AM today. One I had to help as she was about to shrink wrap and she had been pipping about a day and a half.

That's so exciting! I just received my first Ameraucana chicks in the mail on the 10th!!
I love them! I posted pics too.

Be prepared for photo overload in a few days. I ordered them from fowl stuff. These will be my first ameraucanas and the first chicks I've ever had shipped.. I've had my heart set on silver ams for several years. I've only had EEs (silver of course!) up until now. Did I mention how excited I am? Lol!
