Good. Going on personality and fights, it seems like 1 black male and 2 lavender males but not completely sure yet. I guess we'll have to wait until they start crowing. I am very excited about getting blue eggs in a couple months though.
at this age you should be able to tell by the comb, like your black roo, out of 11 chicks I raised I picked out the roos almost immediately the 1s I hatched I picked out within the 1st 3 days.
They all kind of look the same to me. Maybe I'll try and get pictures of their combs. They're definitely a lot friendlier now that they're with the bigger chickens who are use to me.
I've got my first broody hen of the season, sadly my best black Ameraucana that's under a white to produce splits; and judging by the blood rolling down my arm and hand, she's serious about the job.
I broke an egg refexivly jerking away; she may have cracked another pecking at it/me when I decided to give them back to her. I'll put on long sleeves and gloves
and move her tonight, with a few more eggs added, to her own private hutch.

Very cool. I've never had a broody chicken since I've had them (about 3-4years now) I did have a broody Blue Swedish duck once. She would run out of her nest box everytime she would see me and attack my pant leg!
Everyone wish me luck. My first hatch of the season is MONDAY!
Ok, this is the best shot I could get of my chickens. I'm a little worried that most of them might males. I'm hoping to at least have one pullet of each color. I know it will be hard to tell me from the pictures but I was hoping someone could at least give me an idea of what I'm looking for.
I'm still learning how to get it down. But I was told (if i am remembering right) the boys combs are a deeper color then the hens, I have had a couple of girls with 'bigger' combs then my guys but they were lighter in color and they are laying eggs so not sure if it works on all colors of Ameracanas or not but hope it helps anyways

How old are they? They almost look like they're all ready to start laying...Or they should be crowing.
The lav in the middle of the first pic *might* be showing a roo tail, but kinda hard to tell.

x2 I'm seeing mostly girls, but an age would be really helpful.
