Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

By sport, I thought that was meant to mean a white that pops up "randomly"?

Sport can be any color, it is generally a mutation or a mixing of genes that give you a color that is not what you would expect from the genetic possibilities of the parents.....

it seem that the legs are lightning up with age

At that age, you can't tell the leg color. This year, I had some purebred Ameraucanas with bright orange legs. They came from a well respected exhibition breeder. I was in a panic calling the breeder who said they would be fine. They were--the orange went away and they have white skin and proper colored legs.

Here's a picture:

Thanks, I couldn't find anything specific about sport in my quick research. I just remember other breeders mentioning getting sports (whites) from their Lavender Ams! So, that's all I know

My baby girl arrived. She is so adorable, I just love the poofy cheeks! She is happy & healthy. These pics don't do her justice as she just got her cheek poofs wet, but here she is learning who her 'Mama' is:

A BYC member suggested she may be a splash; does anyone here think so as well? She was a Blue from Meyer Hatchery but they do have a disclaimer on their site that we may receive a Blue, a Splash, or a Black - Hatchery Choice.

Does anyone know any breeders near TN, or in the south who sell white ameraucanas or hatching eggs? I've checked on site, but couldnt find anything promising.

What color should an ameraucana's legs be? I thought mine was an A but she must be an easter egger, she has green legs.
