My broody girl Onyx. She's "the favorite" because she's been hatching babies for me today. And she's a fantastic mommy. ETA: Not so fantastic to my hands, but fantastic to the babies.

As far as pullets, the Ameraucana though again much smaller physically hold their own with the bigger Marans and the EE's.
My 36 some odd birds free range so their is not much in the way of pecking order issues. Also with the Alpha Ameraucana roo, if any one picks on his girls they are sent running for their life..

I just love americana's! Despite they're laying abilities, they're sweet and soft.

I collected 2 blue eggs today.

That means one of my other BW/W pullets from Jean has started laying!

From left to right- a Delaware egg, a BW/W Ameraucana egg and a Minorca egg.

I'm thrilled with the color, it's actually much much more vibrant than the first egg. In person it's more teal than what the picture shows.

Yup, the Del egg is a peachy-tan color, not too dark.
