I can understand the bug. I JUST got the Brinsea Eco 20 and already I wish I had gotten the 40!!!!

I just hatched out Blues and Splash Ameraucanas this weekend. I am noticing that with the Blues some have a darker grey color on their heads and backs and the others are light all the way around. Does this mean some are roos and some are pullets?

Trust me, it's a good investment to get a huge incubator!!

I got one that holds 42 w/ the turner in there, and I had about 30+ extras that wouldn't fit in it..I am so getting another two..or three.

Thanks Illia. I was hoping since I have more of the lighter ones than the darker ones. Wishful thinking for more pullets than roosters.

Question...if I breed a black roo to a white hen what will I get? And can someone list the possible outcome for a standard brown americauna bred to a black roo as well? Thx. I have light blue, splash, and dark blue hens too, but I got those figured out already...thx

Black x White makes black birds with true Ameraucanas. With most Easter Eggers it makes white birds.

Easter Egger x Black Ameraucana = Easter Eggers with mostly black coloration, a little bit of brown/red on them.

So the standard "partridge" brown ish are only found as Easter eggers? What colors do real americaunas come in then?
