Wilson county is a big nice fair so I hear one of my co worker/ friend lives in mt Juliet and raves about it

Our county fair was judged yesterday. Same problem as last year. An APA/ABA judge, Marilyn Novak, only DQ'd a single EE that lacked a beard. The other 10 or so EEs were placed. I guess the funky colors, green legs and single combs didn't stand out as much as that missing beard.

I found it interesting that she did DQ about 90% of the LF Cochins for vulture hocks, and plenty of Silkies for toe issues. I guess offending exhibitors wasn't the issue.

Unfortunately, a number of kids were using these EEs in showmanship.

Except she wasn't a local know-nothing judge. She is a full fledged APA/ABA judge listed in the Poultry press. She knows better, and had no problem DQing birds of other breeds with issues.
