There are yellow legged, slate legged, and green legged EE's out there. There are clean faced EE's out there. There are single combed EE's out there. And the biggest part is that most EE's are NOT the same color. . . They vary from having dominant white, dom white influence, BBR, Gold Duckwing, Wheaten, Partridge-type lacing, and even blue in them. In fact, even the ones with a color you might put a label on aren't true to the color. The closest is a pure white EE, because otherwise even the BBR or Duckwing or Partridge looking ones have a LOT of flaws for being called so.

Don't get me wrong, I myself have Easter Eggers, love em to bits, and find they're just as good as Ameraucanas. . . I just don't like that businesses can convince people they're the same. It is the same as convincing a bunch of people, then a bunch of businesses, that anything that looks like a Pit Bull is automatically one.

What are the major differences between Ameraucana and Araucana chickens?

Both breeds lay eggs with shells colored various shades of blue, have pea combs, and should have red earlobes. Beyond that few similarities exist in specimens meeting the requirements of recognized poultry standards. Perhaps 99 percent of chickens sold as Araucanas (or Ameraucanas) by commercial hatcheries are actually mongrels (aka Easter Egg chickens), meeting the requirements of neither breed

White Ameraucana (MISC) Pure white in color, bearded. Good layers of greenish blue eggs. Leg color can vary in this breed. Mixing of two show strains has resulted in some interesting variation. ETA: also have you ever seen his birds? have they ever won shows? could someone with their birds tell me their quality please?
