First, Sandhill actually says they are of "
mixed color" and "
are not of APA Standard Quality"
Second, EE's do not all, especially the ones from hatcheries, conform to having willow legs, the same plumage, the same body type, the same comb type, or even muffs and beard.
There are yellow legged, slate legged, and green legged EE's out there. There are clean faced EE's out there. There are single combed EE's out there. And the biggest part is that most EE's are NOT the same color. . . They vary from having dominant white, dom white influence, BBR, Gold Duckwing, Wheaten, Partridge-type lacing, and even blue in them. In fact, even the ones with a color you might put a label on aren't true to the color. The closest is a pure white EE, because otherwise even the BBR or Duckwing or Partridge looking ones have a LOT of flaws for being called so.
Don't get me wrong, I myself have Easter Eggers, love em to bits, and find they're just as good as Ameraucanas. . . I just don't like that businesses can convince people they're the same. It is the same as convincing a bunch of people, then a bunch of businesses, that anything that
looks like a Pit Bull is automatically one.
Apologies for sounding harsh.
