America is on Fire

Oh god we go from fires to flood warnings how does this happen :he
Along with the flash floods, there are mud and rock slides since the vegetation and roots that held the soil together is gone.

Winter(rainy season) will be bad in the burnt areas

I'm between one and two thousand miles from the fires but we still get the smoke. We've had clear skies for most of the last 10 days but with the haze, I've only seen blue sky twice.
Apparently the smoke has reached Berlin. That's just unbelievable.

This is just the beginning. As Antarctic ice shelves break free and we lose those glaciers, watch out for the 10' rise in sea levels.

I wonder how many coastal towns and cities will be forced to relocate. How expensive will that be? Towns in the Arctic around the world have already moved to higher ground.

Once the fires abate in the US west, they'll start up again in Australia.
We or should I say they were warned, but ears and eyes were covered. Money money, money... it will be if no use to anyone soon.

I feel you. I'm mad too and I'm old.
I just think it was a fantastic planet - and it is the only one we have.
Now you'll know I am a dinosaur, I remember clear blue skies with white fluffy clouds and when the clouds turned dark we had a storm due. A red sky only happened when the next day was going to be a beautiful one "Red sky at night, Shepherds delight".
Young people have never experienced these wonders, and many people my age and older can't even remember. :(

You are seriously saying that young people have never seen clear blue skies with white fluffy clouds? And I'm only 38 years old but I know what a red sky means. Red sky at night, sailors delight, red sky in the morning, sailors warning. Dark clouds still mean a storm is coming. This thread used to be about how to help those affected by the wildfires. Now its about climate change? I'm done with it.
