American Idol

By sticking out your tongue, lifting your eyebrows or opening your eyes and widening your mouth, you open your throat more and take the pressure of your larynx, allowing you to increase your range and decrease the chance of damaging your voice. Sometimes your facial expressions can be a function of making your instrument (as a vocalist) "play" better. Your entire body effects your sound. Posture, placement of arms, position of legs, neck and spine. It's pretty amazing.

That's why I hate it when people squint to hit high notes. It shuts down their throat and even if they hit the note, it can cause damage to your vocal cords, eventually if you are straining.

I thought they all had shining moments. Didn't love the Terence Trent D'Arby song for Danny. Thought Kris first song was unimaginative, but well performed. They both made it up on the second song and I bet the results were VERY close.

Who do you guys think will go home? I'm really not sure, myself.

Adam always sticks his tongue out when he hits those high notes. I guess that's how he's able to hit them.

I liked all of them last night.

No not always. He hits that high several times a song. If he stuck out his tounge every time he'd look like a frog zapping flies. But last night he did once and it really caught my eye. He's probably done it before and I didn't notice because I'm usually folding laundy while watching. But last night when he sang I stopped and watched the whole thing hoping that I would like what he sang and I guess it just boils down to the fact that his voice annoys me. He'd make one heck of a Liza Minelli impersonator.

The facial expressions I don't like are the tounge out (just one of those things for me) and the way Adam looks straight into the camera in between phrases in an attempt to looks angsty tough. Poor kid I would like to like him but I don't.

I have no idea who will go tonight. But I think it should be Kris. He's really good when it's just him and a guitar or a piano but with a full band he just doesn't have power. I may not like Adams voice but he has power. To compare Kris to David Cook when it's just the singer and a guitar is like having Mickey Mouse (Kris) and Hercules (David). Kris has a whole lotta tweens and teens voting for him. If Kris goes Danny doesn't stand a chance against Adam because the tween and teen vote will go to Adam.

At this point it really doesn't matter who wins, it's what they do after Idol that counts. Adam is a great performer and will do well on Broadway. I don't like his constant screaming. Look at Taylor Hicks, he was a great performer and got all the votes but look at him today, not doing as well as he should for being an American Idol. Danny and Kris have been improving so much it is unbelievable. Even if they don't win, they are really better off not to. They won't be stuck in Idol's contract doing what they want you to do. Being the American Idol doesn't necessarily mean you will be a hit. That has already been proven. I think Carrie Underwood has been the greatest singing success story. Maybe, Kelly Clarkson too.

Robin'sBrood :

Did y'all notice the woman holding the "Kiss Me Kris" sign in the audience... with Kris' wife right there! Some people have no shame.

She'd better get used to that! LOL. When they STOP holding up the signs, she needs to worry!

Well she like me probably had no idea that his wife was there. Unlike me if she did she didn't care. I thought the sign was cute.

Ooooh ok so you know Adam annoys me but what annoys me about Kris is the way his sticks his jaw to the side and alot of times when he begins and ends a phrase he doesn't pronounce the beginning or ending vowel sounds. Now I now alot of singers do that. But last night if the judges didn't say the name of the song was Heartless I would have been wondering because Heartless came out areleeee several times. I haven't figured out what annoys me about Danny but I'm sure I'll come up with something. lolol
