American serama thread!

I have some serama questions, I hope I can get some help.
My 10 year old daughter, gabby, has county fair and several poultry shows coming up.
She first started showing last year, she uses her 2 year serama hen for showmanship.
Last year she had one showmanship judge mark her down for her lack of knowledge about her breed.
She told him that seramas came to the united states in 2001 and that they were considered apartment pets in their native country of mylasia. She talked about the friendly temperament.

Ok is this correct? What else can she give as breed background.
Is the white serama fully approved, any other colors, by the aba and apa?
Are serama still classified by weight-a,b,c,d?

Gabby knows that her hen is probably not exhibition quality, she is not that small and not super typey but she shows her clean and the hen is a sweetie who loves her kid.
Gabby has chickens that are "better" show quality but she is proud to show off her little serama hen tuffy.

gabbys- I have a nankin rooster!! It is cool to see someone else have nankins. I think the info you posted is about right. Have you checked out Jerschex website. It may have some more info. I do believe white and white frizzle have been approved, but not 100% sure. Hopefully someone else will be on soon to answer questions. I think they have shows every weekend in Maylasia and they have hundreds of enteries.

Gotta ask this, Whats a nankin?????

It is a yellow little chicken like a serama but not as cute. They are suppose to be really, really rare, like 500 in the USA only. Wish I would have know that before the feral cats killed all the hens. The little hen in my avatar is our very first hen named sally who was a nankin. They are really sweet like seramas.

We had a really sweet rooster, but it was not so sweet to my oldest when she was under 18 months....He attacked her and ripped up her face, but it never broke the skin, it was like scratch hickies. She seriously looked like Freddie Krugar. The clinic here still talks about it everytime we see a dr there. my Daughter is 4 now! Needless to say my husband shot it and we almost got divorced over it. I still haven't forgiven him for it. It took him longer to shoot the dang thing than it would have to fix the spot that he was escaping from.....MEN!!!
