I have some serama questions, I hope I can get some help.
My 10 year old daughter, gabby, has county fair and several poultry shows coming up.
She first started showing last year, she uses her 2 year serama hen for showmanship.
Last year she had one showmanship judge mark her down for her lack of knowledge about her breed.
She told him that seramas came to the united states in 2001 and that they were considered apartment pets in their native country of mylasia. She talked about the friendly temperament.
Ok is this correct? What else can she give as breed background.
Is the white serama fully approved, any other colors, by the aba and apa?
Are serama still classified by weight-a,b,c,d?
Gabby knows that her hen is probably not exhibition quality, she is not that small and not super typey but she shows her clean and the hen is a sweetie who loves her kid.
Gabby has chickens that are "better" show quality but she is proud to show off her little serama hen tuffy.
