Well, he kind of just picked it up from my daughter and I because since the day he hatched we were always kissing him. We would make little kissy sounds and as he got older, he started doing the same with his beak. Now if we put our lips near the end of his beak he will make little chattering noises while moving his beak very quickly on our lips. He will also do it on our cheeks or in our ears. He's quite the lady's man

Oh wow Laura, that is SO COOL! I can get a kiss sometimes [in the evenings] from my hen Beeps, but nothing like that.....I am jealous!

Well folks I am off to NYC for 4 days with my entire immediate family, I sure am gonna miss this thread and my birds while I am gone. I usually never go out of town because of the birds but this is a family event (rememberance for my mother who passed away 1 year ago on the 15th). I have mixed feelings about going, I am scared to death of flying especially after watching the planes hit the world trade centers that horrifying morning on sept 11th. Think I may need a stiff drink or 6 before the flight. I have never left my babies for more then 1 day let alone 4. They are in good hands with my SO but of course not as good as they would be with me here. Anyone else freak out when they have to leave their birds for more then 1 day? I am so afraid of something going wrong and my SO not being able to fix the problem.

Thanks Bobby! She was taken wayy to young, only 53... stupid cancer! It was a very tragic experience for me and my sisters, my youngest sister was only 17 at the time. Hopefully this is the closure we need to get over the difficult times we have had struggling to come to terms with it. I tell ya the birds better be ok or someone is moving into the dog house when I get back home LOL. I will be making nightly calls home for a welfare check lol, quite possibly several times a day. I am the one who takes care of the birds ft, he occasionally changes the waterers but thats about it. I also have a system at night, certain birds require cuddle time and a ride to the roost. I talk to each one (all 37 of em) every single night and they talk back to me. Different yet similar system for mornings, I have a heavy bantam cochin who is tooo fat to jump down from the roost who needs a ride back down, then a 5 minute lap snuggle and a kiss on the head b4 she starts her day. I hope they remember me when I get home LOL. Ya see it's a tad bit complicated, easy for me to take care of them but its the fine details that count yanno? Aww well I am gonna make the best of the trip reguadless, I mean its not everyday you can take a big family vacation to NY!

Wow that is young. So sorry. But wow a trip to ny with family should be fun. I'm kinda glad i'm the only one who takes care of mine. My son use to help but he found girls. lol I guess we do have our favs. I have nursed a black one back to health and shes comes running as soon as i come out. i lost my fav one and a little black roo. But i've been reading and looking. gonna build a fortress this time. lol. taking some ideas from a couple of places and gonna see.
Maybe i need to get away lol. NY would be a blast.
