Since there are no imports currently allowed into the US, I have to think your "rumor" is just that, a rumor. Honestly, we don't care what you want to call our birds, i.e. kapan, serama, dogs, or ugly. We like them. We have a standard of perfection and we breed to that standard and that is all that matters. Everyone here enjoys their birds and correct me if I'm wrong, I don't believe anyone asked if their birds were kapan, serama or what you thought of them. If you want to critique birds, perhaps your time would be better spent on one of the sanctioning body forums. I'm sure they'd enjoy hearing what you have to say.All of the birds pictured are kapan. But they do look good enough for what they are.
Rumor has it, some true serama are currently in the process of being imported, so maybe that will help.
It's entitled "Serama or Kapan, Let's Discuss."Tim, I thought you were opening your own thread to discus this controversy? Give us the thread url and those of us that want to chime in can.

I can't wait to see it grown up!Just sharing my handsome boy...this is Slash, who will is Daddy of half of the eggs I have incubating, and of the two little black and white peeps I just hatchedLove this guy...I took the roost pole out of his cage so hopefully his tail will look better by April, for the next upcoming show. He is only 7 1/2 months old as well...still has tons of time to mature and become even more handsome

I had a horrible scare yesterday. I was sitting on the couch and all of a sudden heard a screaming commotion from the cages. I looked over and OMG Beckette had gotten her head stuck between the bars on top of the cage! I ran over and got her loose but what a scare. I have some hardware cloth that will be cut to fit the top so it doesn't happen again.

Oh gosh, that happened all the time with my sultans in their brooder. It just has a net over it but the number of times they got themselves tangled in the net was amazing. I don't even know what initially spooked them, I'm pretty sure it was phantom or else one pecked another which screamed too loud, or who knows!!! Silly birds! Least it was a soft net and they never hurt themselves.I had a horrible scare yesterday. I was sitting on the couch and all of a sudden heard a screaming commotion from the cages.
