Thank you for the links. So what is it about her that says she is a mix? If you could help me understand.

Here are my serama chicks...they are pure but how is it one has feathered legs? None of my adults do

Did these come from your birds?
I have a couple with leg feathers also, and one full booted one. Seramas do exist booted, and it can pop up occasionally.

Eta - they are adorable!

To start with both girls' backs are too long and these feather colors do not show up in Seramas unless the OEGB has been tossed in the mix somewhere along the line. They are very horizontal also.

I will try to find a link with lots of pictures. :D

OK, on the breeders that only breed for show quality the feathered legs VERY rarely come out and I mean VERY rarely..... When people are just breeding seramas for funnzies and for pets, it comes out more as a hen/cock that spits out feather legs would not be used again with a show quality breeder.
p.s. DANG they are too cute all lined up :love :jumpy

Not doubting, or arguing with you, but I never knew they could even be booted until I hatched one. After researching, I get the feeling (personally gut feeling) that booted ones may be gaining popularity. I still haven't decided what I will do with mine, more research first, but he sure is growing on me (emotionally, I mean)

Well, let me ask some breeders and I will let you know.... It is a recessive gene.

Well got my answer.... QUOTE "I hate them and would never have one and, having produced probably close to 1000 chicks plus have NEVER had a single one. What does that tell you?" This is from the top breeder of SHOW quality seramas on the west coast.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can buy a Serama pair? I live in Tennessee. I'm not opposed to paying for shipping. Thanks.
