Yeah, I thought I was doing better with a borrowed foam one that ended up being more trouble! My little Dasp did seem to get better the longer I let it run, though. I found that if I leave it full that it seems to stay very steady but I have a feeling the display is showing warmer than what it actually is because with three thermometers in it they were all showing 3-4 degrees warmer.
I really like those Brinsea mini ones but they are just too much. Maybe I'll have to look into incubators again.

[/IMG]First ! I am in love with these chicks! So sweet adorable and loving! Can someone help me figure out the gender these gals/guys? I'm not sure what to look for? I can tell the gender of my standards pretty quickly. These chicks have me stumped. The both are very similar !! I'm praying they are both pullets! Any help or tips would be wonderful ! Also, is there a good book someone can recommend about this breed? Thank you in advance ! What a pleasure to have these little chicks!

I am glad that your chick hatched Scovy Mama. I wish I had some Serama chicks. But I can not hatch. Cause we don't have a rooster anymore and my hen is one year old and she still won't brood.

I know that you can tell pretty early, and I think it's because their comb and waddles turn pink if they're Roos at an early age. So far, yours don't look to me like they're boys, but it still might be early. If you had more to compare I bet it would be even easier.

Thank you! I hope they stay that way! I got them as a assortment . I really love my Mille Fluer D'uucle! However these two are stealing my heart QUICK!!!! I would love to learn more about them. What the coloring is considered ect... I may get a small cage for the house. I have birds everywhere!! Sure glad my husband loves them too! How big on average do these peanuts get? These are my first Serama. We've always had free range LF, but I know that the little guys are going to need a little more protection, so I'm planning on an indoor coop as well. Be careful about buying the cute little "rabbit/chicken hutches". There's a lot of them and they seem very affordable, but people say that they're very flimsy and you're better off making your own. I also have my first Silkies from this hatch, so they're going to need a little extra care as well. I'm loving learning everything I can about Serama. Definitely falling in love, so if you do come across some good info, be sure to pass it on here! I was looking at some of the other threads on here too and there's a lot about sexing Seramas. It looks like between 5 and 6 weeks old, it's pretty obvious who's who. My first Serama hatched alone, and while I had a second batch of 6 hatch a week later, my singleton still preferrs to be with me over the others, so roo or hen, looks like we have a house chicken!

I don't have any other chickens, just this guy. I got a tiny incubator cheap & thought it may be fun to hatch some eggs. It ended up being a little more involved than I thought it would be but I did enjoy it. It ended up being that the less fuss I made on the eggs the better it turned out. I should ignore more things in life

HELP ASAP!!!!! My little Serama rooster just started like seizing in his cage and flailing so I pulled him out and his head was back and he was like stiff so I held him and he like pulled up water/saliva and now I'm holding him and he keeps going limp then waking up and he's panting. Help I don't want to lose him!
