American serama thread!

How is the Roo now ? We just discovered Seram's a few months ago. . . .
He's alittle better. I figured out that his crop is impacted. Gave him scrambled eggs with some olive oil and applesauce a few hours ago, and I've been massaging his crop. Before I figured it out I gave him some warm mash last night, which he chowed down on! So I made things worse. He is pooping better though. Was just yellowish liquid, now more normal. He's such an awesome bird, don't want to lose him

Please keep us Updated with the little Titan.
Will do! Thank you.

So Cute, looks like he feeling better, how R the rest doing now ? ever one OK ?
That was actually a pic before he started feeling better, I'll attach ine from today. Finally got his crop emptied and slowly starting him on solid food and his apples. Put him out with his 2 girls alittle bit ago, luckily they've been looking great. He's not as perky as I'd like, but he has been thru alot tbis week. Im gonna leave him with his girls tonight and see if that helps him perk up. Fingers crossed! I really don't know what else to do for him. Talk soon.

Can Somebody Help Me. I was sold a total of 4 chickens .. the first too were sold to me as Serama's .. no misunderstanding .. the 2nd two sold from a different person but as Serama's as well ( not very good english from 2nd seller and I cannot be certain I was being understood due to our conversation.. you had to be there) they are blossoming and the more they grow the more I doubt the 1st and 3rd are Serama but maybe Japanese Bantams. AAANNNNDD now that I look at these photos I am uncertain about the first two I was sold as well lol. PLEASE help set me straight.. I attempted this on the japanese bany thread and was told they look like seramas .. I would like to know your opinions. Gunsmoke.jpg Capone.jpg Dahlia.jpg Cutiepie.jpg

First one I would NOT consider a serama. That being said, it could be just a mixed breed/very poor quality serama. Thats second one I would say is a serama. The hens are probably seramas. They might also be OEGBs but I might be completely off on that. Get a couple more opinions but If you are planning on breeding/showing, get rid of that first rooster. If you got them as fun pets (Totally great too! They make amazing pets!) this is just MY opinion. Someone else might have a completely different opinion! Hope you enjoy the seramas! That are fun with all their different personalities!

So quick question on incubating serama eggs, I have 9 incubating currently on day 15 .. I understand that after day 17 I am to turn off the turner ... I have read to set them pointy side up.. that would seem a simple enough statement but what is up? By that I mean my incubator lays them on there side so am I somehow supposed to set them on end?

Pointy side up?? No. definitely not.

Lay them on the side with the lowest dip of the air cell facing the ceiling of the incubator. I draw a vertical line (vertical related to air cell end to pointy end), just in case they get rolled by other hatchlings, I know which side was supposed to be up.
