I doubt a garter snake could break the skin though. And I have been bitten by a corn snake and it did not break the skin.
LOL, rest assured I was being facetious!! I'm just saying I'm suddenly very thankful that the occasional garter is the only slithery thing to enter my little yard. They are welcome but I have no intention of spending any time around them, nevermind making any sort of contact.
