Ancona Chicken Thread

Pics
Greetings All: I am also a new visitor to this thread. My baby chicks are 4 weeks old today, purchased as a surplus 15 rare collection from MyPetChicken. I am having a perplexing and enjoyable experience attempting to determine which breeds I received.

With this post I am discussing 'izzi', my friendliest and most 'willing to step out of her comfort zone' chick. She is the only chick anxious and running to 'see' me when I visit the brooder. She wants to be sitting in my hand, as well as exploring.

From what I am researching, I believe she is an Ancona (can anyone provide a phonetic pronunciation for me please). I provide the following photos through today the 4th week. May I ask for comments regarding identification please?

Hey guys
What size are the anconas and is there a bantam version?
Would they be as big as some of the large fowl eg. RIR
Thanks

I am sorry no one could help you. Did you try feathersite? They usually have great pictures, but usually not of the half grown ones.

Anconas have the best feed to egg conversion. Better than RIR and leghorns

My Minorca bantams and Ancona bantams don´t eat a lot but they lay almost every day. They also eat a lot of bugs and worms.

Hi all! I got this sweet chick out of a mystery bin at the mercantile. She is 4 weeks old. My guess is Ancona, does this seem like what she is to you experts out there? The baby feathers on her head are still a yellowish color, but her new feathers coming in are white (mixed in with the black). Thank you for your help!!
