Ancona Ducks

Bad news, my Ancona's are from Plum Run and I had a white one in my batch

Oh, that sucks. Thanks for the heads up on them, too bad I already have my order in, guess I'm just going to have to try to get a few individuals out of the order that don't have it and go from there. Thanks again though so now I deffinately know I have to do the test matings to be sure.

I got a white duck from Boondockers too. It looked just like the saxony from the first day.

Good to know. It may be in everyones flock..... I just have lucked out of hatching one from mine yet My number might be up...... we will see as I have 19 due to hatch in a week. If I have the white gene in them then It should pop up with that many ducklings hatching. I know the Show Quality penciled runners from Holderread have it as I hatched several whites from my origional flock that came from Holderread.

So did they send you an all white duckling? or did you hatch it?

It appears that my ancona has a teeny amount of color after all. It has dark shading under eyes and some more shading along the back. It is still a mystery what this duck will look like when it gets older. Not that it matters. I'm in love anyway.

Who knows, chicken crazy. Maybe I will send a picture to the ebay seller and ask. At least it looks like it is not solid white now. I will definitely update with pictures as the cute little bugger grows up.

Beautiful ducklings! The cayugas are SO cute, I love the little black ducklings. And your ancona is precious! It will be so fun to watch him/her grow up and feather out. I love the mystery ducklings!

They shipped what looked like TWO solid white day old ducklings.
One turned turned tan as it feathered. So I asked if they made a mistake.
Yep one saxony and one solid white Ancona.
