I didn't want to touch my camera so ill just describe. My blue orpington hen was on the floor of the coop this morning and could not get up. I put her down (chopped head off) and did autopsy. She barely bled out. Her waddles were very pale. gut and intestines were almost empty except some pebbles. 2-3 sections of gut seemed pouched with green stuff in them (appendicitis?) thick yellow stuff oozed from rectum. No worms at all, anywhere. Her yolks looked fine and were all developing with no necrosis. however, her liver was grayish green and very necrotic looking. similar to this picture but her liver kind fell apart and was more gray. any ideas on what would cause this? or how to help my other girls so they don't suffer the same thing?

You might want to contact an avian pathologist at one of the Texas labs.
