animal control came and said to get rid of my chickens!

Its true its a free country, but we as chicken lovers should know our limits too. Can't jeopardize other's peace just for our enjoyment. The goal is equilibrium

Yes, I will give them heck. My girls are not bad. No roosters here. I understand that, it makes sense, they are LOUD. Pretty, but loud. I'll keep you guys all up to date when something new comes up. For now, I'm status quo, it seems to be working well, albeit my clean up job at night. Its worth it, though. Thanks everyone!!

Thanks so much Rafael! I will do that. The next meeting is this Tuesday. Who knows, maybe an email will do the trick. I will keep you posted.

I wouldn't rely on an e-mail. I would go to the meeting in person.

Hi everyone. This is whats happening. My hubby said we have to wait until the next meeting, which will be on Tuesday, May 5. His reasoning is this: he says by then my silkie chicks will be bigger, more filled out, etc.
He also stated that everything has been quiet on the homefront thus far. No complaints, no animal control, now for nearly 1 month, or there abouts.
Which is great!

We will be going to the meeting definately, just not for another couple weeks. Then I can bring my little girls, the silkies, and show them to all at our Commissioners meeting. I have already brought them to our PetSupermarket, and had lots of people comment on them! They think they are adorable! This should be a sign of what I should get when I go in front of the Commission, don't you think? I am also thinking of emailing someone from our newspaper down here. I was given his name and email address. Maybe he would want to be at this meeting also. The more the better for my case. What do you all think of this plan?
