The system is manual, so I do the updating when I am not asleep or at work.

I work from about 4am to 1pm pacific time and try to sleep from 8pm to 2am. I also try to spend some time with my animals, sewing and husband.

I had some logic in there, too. The site is not free to maintain. The advertising, which is tastefully done, (not blasting me bug-eyed every time I change pages), probably provides little to no income. So the alternative could be heavier, flashier advertising sold to some heavy handed company. $24.00 per year is a small price to pay to avoid the garish, glaring ads!

There's plenty more, but why bore you to tears, there are other forums for that!

After literally hundreds and hundreds of emails and phone calls we finally convince an itsy bitsy percentage to become sponsors of the site.

You hit the nail on the nail on the head regarding the quality of ads. We could generate a lot more money for BYC from the ad space if we sold it to "PUNCH THE MONKEY AND WIN $500" types of ads but we've chosen to have full control over the advertisers and the ads they display. At the end of the day it isn't about the money, but it IS about the member's experience.

I cant believe how many people have joined. I want to but my dad probably wouldnt let me. He barely ever uses his paypal account.
