Announcing the new BYC Reputation System: Ovations

Ah..that makes sense. I don't spend too much time thinking about it....but I happened to check it last week and realized that it had skyrocketed, so curiosity - and if I am being honest, ego

-kept me checking back.

And thank you. Ovations are certainly nice, but they figure dead last when it comes to the things I've learned and the friends I've made!

I thought that came from number of posts, not number of ovations.

She has 10,275 posts, and many of those posts were given ovations. Very high ovation to post ratio.

No, I meant the "onsite legend" description. I thought it came from having 10,000+ posts.... not 10,000+ ovations. I missed that she had 10,000 ovations. That's awesome.

Onsite Legend pops up after you get above 3,000 turds... I mean 'brown eggs'... each Ovation is worth a varied amount of those depending on the standing of the one giving the Ovate...

Holy smokes....and here I was thinking that was about average and not really a big deal. I was only curious to see if the "onsite legend" changed after the 10,000 number was broken. Thanks everyone, for the kind comments, but this is a bad time of year for that - my stocking hat is NEVER gonna fit now!

Ok, I'll try again, lol... the descriptions, like Onsite Legend, come from total point value of your Ovations not from post count or even actual individual Ovate count... Ovates from newer members have a lower point value than a member with long time good standing reputation, like say a Mod... but these listings are not public, only you can see them...

The titles like Chillin' With My Peeps and Flock Master come from your post counts... and these are publicly shown...

Those are public knowledge and shown... in desktop mode on the homepage next to the ratings for popular threads, most posts per day, etc... it's just the individuals collection and point value of Ovates that is not public...
