Yeah, the Meal Maker is just an extra bird whose meat or eggs should be donated. What I've read is that if you order egg layers, your meal maker will be an egg layer, and if you order meat birds, your meal maker will be a meat bird.

I agree it looks like a silver lakenvelder but the yellow legs are throwing me off and it doesn't seem to have a single comb. Gonna have to put up some more pictures after its a week or two old so we can see if the legs are changing color and what type of comb its got.

Thanks for all your ideas....I will post some more pics over the next couple weeks. I mixed them in with some week old chicks I had from Meyer, a blue splash marans roo, a blue orpington and what I think is a golden buff. Its funny to watch....the 4 little ones seem to have taken control of the brooder even with their small size.

well, its been a week..... not much has changed with it other than some very light feathers along the wings. The color is still a blue/grey. If it is a Golden Spangled Hamburg...how old are they normally when their leg color changes...the pic that meyer shows the legs of the adult birds look dark.

ok...so I have been doing some searching on the internet...trying to get some ideas on what this chick may be. I have found some pics of a Columbian Wyandotte that look very close. Anybody have any input on this possibility?

I was thinking the same after your last pictures... That's a tough one. I'm thinking it's either the Wyandotte or the Hamburg. You might just have to wait until she's a little older to tell for sure.
