Another Egg Bound Hen.

Just gave her 60ml fluids(couldn't wait), she is walking almost normally but slowly, she is so strong(its a spalding) it wasn't easy to tube her, i wasn't wearing gloves so didn't chick her vent, i will check it on the second round of fluids, don't want to put much stress on her.

I'm almost sure its egg bound, saw the male mating her two weeks ago, and didn't lay this year yet, the other hen in this pen started laying 2 days ago.
Be very careful when you go to give the next round of fluids. Check her crop to make sure it's mostly cleared, if it has, then check her vent. Once you have checked her vent, then give fluids. I say this because handling them when they have a crop full of fluids can cause them to vomit and aspirate. Does the way I said that make sense?

Ok, sure it makes sense, but to be honest I tried to feel her crop and didn't know if its empty or not.

This is the video:

Okay, she looks pretty perky, so maybe give her 90 minutes before the next tubing and then check her vent *before* you tube again. Do you have calcium?

Just checked her vent, i felt the egg, also checked her crop and it seems not empty, so i just gave her 1 ml of this calcium treat.

And i think i stressed her a lot after catching her.

She is breathing normally now, i will leave her now and will go to bed, will be waking up hopefully after 4 or 5 hours, hoping she will lay the egg before that time.
