Another Newbie question.

Only 3 of my chickens are laying, 5 others are around that age. One of my maran mixes just started laying a week and a half ago. Is it possible for a chicken to lay eggs so difference in color/shade? Or did another chicken start laying? Just trying to figure out if she was running out of ink or if it’s a new layer.

Could be either.
Dark coatings can be glitchy, especially at first.
