Another USPS Rant

Oh, I'm so sorry for those little birdies. I hope against hope they're okay somehow.

You do NOT want to get me started on USPS. I will not ship things with them after they lost a check from a settlement company (who wasn't supposed to mail it in the first place, but still...) from a house sale for $116,000. I had my next settlement to go with the money and had to put that off while they figured out I wasn't conning them.

And THEN, two years ago when I moved from the city to Braddock Mountain I put in a change of address well in advance - because I was also having my hip replacement done...so I wanted it taken care of. Well, it took me (are you sitting down?) FIVE MONTHS and THREE more address changes (in person this time, mind you -the first one was by computer) AND an investigation by their customer service (oh, help me) WHICH I had hooked-and-crooked into their phone system with information from the Web site because you can't GET the customer service people's information from there. I had to visit my OLD house every day to get my mail out of the door (nobody had moved in and my mail sat in between the screen door and the door getting wet in the rain). I was almost arrested at one point on one of my many visits to the Post Office about it. It was INSANE.

I made a point of speaking quietly and calmly getting names of people I talked to who guaranteed my mail would be forwarded (or held, in one case) - which it wasn't - and writing down dates after the first two visits and the supposed manager suddenly goes "Do you want me to call the police and have you taken out of here?" I replied "Well, if they have to count on you to tell them where I am - I'm SAFE - they'll never find me until my MAIL does."

The birds arrived in Tacoma last night around 2 am. The post office workers told me that since there were no scans that the birds sat in the Fed EX facility in Memphis all day yesterday.

All I can say is what a bunch of losers.

I do not know if they are all alive. The guy I talked to this morning said he heard peeping, but we will see. The person who bought them is supposed to pick them up within the hour as they went ahead and took them to her post office.

She is a Dr. and has took a cage in her car to work for them. She brought food and sugar/electrolyte water. She may have to start an IV on them and get the paddles out just in case.

She will call me when she gets back to her office. Of course they will have to stay in the car for a couple hours. Fortunately she only has a half day today.

Julie(BamaChicken) sent me some 5 week olds about a month ago. It took them 2 days to get here, and they were just fine. She did put fruit in the box with them, so they had something to eat and stay hydrated. They were very energetic when they arrived, like they hadn't even been on a 2 day trip at all. Hope you have good news.

Have you found out anymore? I sure how they are all OK.

having had issues with them picking up and delivering non living things. There is no way I would ever put and animals life in their hands

I hope the little ones are ok.

Oh man Jean-that makes me sick. Why the heck can't they just get them across the state-rediculous! I hope they are ok.
