Anti Barking Devices For Rooster Crowing

Is it only at night that you’re worried about the crowing? Or is daytime crowing OK? If daytime crowing is OK temporary solution would be to take some old towels and line the coop with three or four layers of towels to buffer the sound. You could run by Goodwill or someplace that sells them really cheap used. But that also depends on how big your coop is. I also realize that that idea is stretching the limits, but I’m trying to think outside the box

Night and early morning is all we are worried about, because that is the only time they crow. So I would turn the device off during the day. I looked into sound proofing but it will get to hot as we are in Florida. OMG its so hot an very very humid right now, its even hot in the shade So if anyone knows of a sound proofing that will stay cool in our heat and very high humidity that would be wonderful. On a side note when we are outside with our huge big fan on, the chickens will come lay in front of it from time to time lol and thank you for thinking outside the box :)

Sorry, I thought you were talking about a anti bark collar. I don't think the ones you hang on a tree will work. Could you put the roosters in the garage or a basement at night, until you move?

That is going to be our next thing do.

New information, now we know what you are talking about. I have no idea if that will work on dogs, let alone chickens. It has a money back guarantee. You can try it and return it if it doesn't work. Or you can get a dog whistle in that frequency and see if the chickens notice when you blow it.

I saw the money back guarantee I just wanted to see if someone else might have tried one and see which one they bought. It seems that the devices admit different frequencies depending on the brand. And now that Amazon is blocking and closing accounts from too many refunds I want to do as much research as possible before buying and returning anything to them.

So I just had a thought, what about those hoods that falconers use to calm their birds? It might be a problem with their crests, but you could trim those and they'll grow back.

So I had to look up "hoods that falconers use to calm their birds" because I had know idea what it was. OMG that would be so funny looking. I would have to make or find one that has a hole on top to put their crests through. Thank you for the suggestion :)

My boys just had a trim last week as they started running into stuff in the yard. That was the second time I have given them a trim. First time they where 11 weeks and the second time they where 13 weeks. So it seem I may be doing it every two weeks or when they start running into things again, which ever comes first :)

I learned how to trim and cut from these videos (just in case someone else is looking for this:

Put what on a dog???????

I'm only asking about using and anti barking device that hangs on a tree to control the crowing of a rooster.

Sorry I was not clear enough.
Wow, it's just put in the yard or porch. Reviewers say it works for dogs, even quieted the neighbors dog...I have no idea how. Anyway it has a money back guarantee. If you try it, let us know the results with your rooster.

I have the Sunbeam Ultrasonic Egg device for my dogs. I don’t know about how it would work on roosters, but it keeps my dogs quiet and I don’t even have to hear the noise.

Will do :)

I’d be interested to know if it works for a roo! We had three of them back when we bred dogs and they didn’t do anything for them. And just recently a bark collar for a lab mix and it wouldn’t even stop her...maybe I have stubborn dogs or they just dont feel or hear it! :he

I’d be interested in the falcon hood! But then again my roo would be wearing it all day as he never shuts up! Right now he’s in the garage, but that’s not a good life for him.

I’d like to follow along and see what you find that works! I’m also in the city...
