Any Christmas songs get on your nerves?

I've often wondered if Christmas, Winter Solstice Celebrations, all these winter holidays weren't made just so that us folks that loathe cold would have SOME reason to look forward to this frigid horrible season. Not trying to cause a religious thing, not knocking the holiday or anything just saying if it didn't exists I would give serious consideration to hibernating until April.

You're probably right on target with that one.

A simple remedy...turn off the radio or change the channel. Or better yet, go back to your CD collection or whatever your music sources are and select those holiday/Christmas music selections that make you happy. Play those and free yourself of the irritating and loop music. I'm about ready to dig out my favorites to play during the day or evening when tv seems so lame and sewing or reading needs a background. ~G

Most likely late March - early April.

Like around April 6?

Tartan Day!

Pretty much all of them. I don't have much Christmas spirt these days. I won't turn on the radio until a week after new years. That's what really ticks me off. You think it's safe to turn on the radio because it's several days after Christmas and the sneaky rascals sneak one in on you.

Nope... not yet... I would actually much rather replace Christmas songs (even the really obnoxious versions) with the awful song I have had playing incessantly in my head for the last week... the song that plays on the HP printer commercial where the weird baby in the little walker speeds through traffic, over highways, etc... I don't know the words, so every time it plays, new lyrics (right now its: "I've got a brand new pair of overalls... etc) I think my ADD is kicking into high gear

May be time to put on some Bing Crosby or John Denver christmas... Heck, I'd rather have the Chipmunks singing Christmas songs than this!

I really like the Gift by Garth Brooks but you very seldom hear it. I also like the Huron Carole by Tom Jackson. Both those songs, I have to play my own cds.

I love the Mannheim Steamroller/Trans Siberian Orchestra Christmas songs. They are cleverly arranged and played with a fresh feel. Very classy but not stuffy. I have all their CD's and I play those instead of taking "pot luck" on the radio. I also throw in cd's by Josh Groban and Kenny G. Most all of them are instrumentals which make wonderful background music.....and if I get inspired, I can sing with them and pretend I'm at Carnegie Hall! HA! I really hate the commercialization and trivialization of a wonderful holiday, so this is how I combat it.

The other day I heard "Walkin' Around in Women's Underwear" played to the "Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland" tune...I thought it was hilarious but then I will laugh at almost anything!

Otherwise, there's a few I really dislike, like the dogs barking Jingle Bell's, but I enjoy Christmas so much it doesn't really bother me that much.

Sorry if they have been said but Santa Baby, I Want A hippopotomus for Cristmas and Baby its Cold Outside. I can't stand the tashy money grubbing that tghe woman sings about in Santa Baby.
