I bought another Ball Canning book. It looks like it has some good recipes to try and not too many duplicates from the original one I had.

Not Lazy!Sounds like a NEAT day. What kind of bread will you be making?
And Penny....the 3 loaves of bread you make....are they your favorites? And what recipe? Is it sour dough. I am stuck...and always use the same recipes. It took me a while to perfect them...so I always stay with those Recipes. Am I lazy?
Sounds like my Saturday or Sunday!Hubs is going to photograph a truck rodeo for his boss tomorrow so it's going to be a day of grocery shopping and baking for me. Going to make banana bread and regular bread, still thinking about dinner.
Thanks for the tip!I got a new cookbook yesterday, "Pie in the Sky". It's devoted to high altitude baking and looks really good. The woman that wrote it spent several years testing sea-level recipes in different breakdowns of altitudes and the book breaks explains how to adjust ingredients, bake time, etc. by how high up the baker is. Really interesting stuff (now if I can only find the time to try some of her book recipes out).
I make a loaf bread recipe, one or two sourdough recipes most of the time too.Bread is a staple in my meals. We like it to be the same great bread all the time. We have one type of store bread that we buy - DH must have store bread for egg salad sandwiches...
I will try a new recipe once in a while, but once I found the one we liked, that is the one I made most of the time.
To make sourdough bread tomorrow, I need to start tonight! Get the starter warmed up and a sponge to rise overightThought about making sourdough bread today. I suppose you are right. Not today anymore. But tomorrow is a good possibility.
