Any Home Bakers Here?

Hello,

This is hilarious.

Boy, once he's had deer meat, he'll never go back to regular dog food again.

I like gator! Can't get it up here in WY (that I know of) but it was pretty easy to find in FL.
Our lake in the back yard!! Lol

Jared, I tend to follow R2's method and it works. Sooner we get the deer into the root cellar the better. Hope I need to try your method as I'm really curious.

Debby, order gator tail from the cajungocer.com.... And order some live mud bugs in april.
No no no.... get backstrap, tenderloin!!! The tail is the toughest part! The jaw meat is good too!! ;)

Hope I need to try your method as I'm really curious.
It makes it so tender and it cleans the meat amazingly! We used it on soft shell too. It works really good. You can do it on any meat! We usually do it in a cooler. It keeps it way cooler longer. If we have more then one hog we will keep it iced in the brine for 3+ days.

The new cookie recipe I made yesterday turned out great...DH has proclaimed them his new favorite.

Cinnamon Bun Cookies
Dough:
1 Cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 Cup powdered sugar
1/3 Cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 Cup AP flour

Filling:
5 Tab unsalted butter, softened
1/4 Cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp light corn syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 Tab AP flour
1 Tab ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt

Glaze:
1 Cup powdered sugar
1/4 Cup light corn syrup
2 tsp vanilla extract
1-2 tsp water

* Cream first 5 ingredients (under Dough) until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually beat in flour. On a baking sheet, roll dough between 2 lightly floured sheets of waxed paper into a 12" square. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
* For filling, beat butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and vanilla. Add flour, cinnamon and salt; mix well. Remove top sheet of waxed paper; spread filling over dough to within 1/4" of eggs. Using wasted paper, roll up tightly jelly-roll style, removing paper as you roll. Wrap in plastic and freeze until firm, about 30 minutes.
* Preheat oven to 375*. Unwrap dough and cut crosswise into 1/4" slices. Place 2" apart on parchment paper-lined baking sheets. Bake until edges are very l with brown (about 10-12 minutes). Cool on pans 5 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
* For glaze, mix powdered sugar, corn syrup, vanilla and enough water to reach desired consistency. Drizzle over cookies. Let stand at room temperature until set.

Makes about 3 dozen

Nice!

You have a rechargeable magic keyboard plugged into the computer? One of our Faculty thought you had to do that and asked me where the charging cable was for the rechargeable mouse...I am amazed at how often that happens with PhD Faculty! They are very smart at one thing but can be doltish at other things
