Any Home Bakers Here?

I wonder if Homemade Irish Cream would work for the glaze? I don't buy it from the store anymore. Probably not a good idea to use it in the glaze with the raw eggs in it.

I made Tom & Jerry Batter and have it in the freezer for us to enjoy. I can't believe I never had these before, my family always had these at Christmas and I didn't think I liked them. DH grew up with these for the holidays, but the stuff you get from the store is so awful, :sick :sick It is no wonder no-one drinks them any more.
DH insisted we buy some one year and we ended up throwing it away. I mentioned that I had the family recipe, if he wanted to try it I was willing to make it. When he tried it he was like :celebrate.

I've never heard of Tom & Jerry Batter...what is it?

A Tom & Jerry is a hot beverage to be enjoyed by responsible Adults.
I have had it with rum flavoring, but it is not nearly as good. It really warms you up after chores on a cold winter evening.
The batter is basically beaten eggs, powdered sugar, and vanilla and you store it in the freezer to keep it from separating. With all the sugar, it does not freeze hard. To use, you put 2 to 3 spoonfuls of batter in your mug, add hot water, a 1/2 shot of rum and a 1/2 shot of brandy. A dusting of fresh ground nutmeg on the foamy top.
Its probably a regional thing, like an Old Fashioned.

Guess that leaves me out

It does sound like a good winter chill chaser!

I too have a recipe for said adult beverage. But back in my Saudi days, I made my own.
