Make your own egg noodles, they aren't hard!
It is normal for yogurt to be a bit thin the first time you make it, It gets better and then good about the third time
Wow, never used dry yogurt culture. Didn't even know they had that stuff. I prefer to keep my culture going from one batch to the next, but when I take a break (like now), I usually just pick up a small container of quality yogurt at the store and use that. I have to say, the worst yogurt I ever made was using a culture from yogurt I bought at a local farm stand.
If I want thicker yogurt, I line a colander with cheesecloth and strain out the excess liquid, but my DH isn't that particular.
X2! They are very tasty and easy to makeMake your own egg noodles, they aren't hard!
Nice! thanks for the tipI add about half a cup of powdered milk to the milk before heating it, to thicken the final product. I whisk it into some of the cold milk first and then strain it so I don't get lumps. I use 2% organic milk.
It looks good!I decided instead to make what I call Hunter's pie. It's basically shepherd's pie, but with game meat.
Here is how I do it:
I first cook the ground Game meat. it can be any type of game meat. I've used deer and goose, both with good results. After I cook them, I put the meat in and oven safe Container. After that, I put some green beans over the layer of meat. After that, I just put mashed potatoes over the layer of green beans, and then I sprinkle cheddar cheese over it.
Basically a layer of cooked game meat on the bottom, then a layer of green beans, then mashed potatoes. Then you sprinkle cheese on the top.
Then, you just cook it in the oven until it's heated through, then you serve it.
