You should be able to use the touch test for the dough to see if it is proofed enough.I can assure you that they are!
Lasagna for dinner. Not sure if the sourdough bread (using starter from you) will be ready. I'm doing the King Arthur Extra Tangy Sourdough recipe.

Not sure they look any bigger 2 hours later. The house is 65°F so on DW's advice I've put them in the oven with the light on as I found references that said the proofing setting (100°F) is too hot.
This is my first shot at bread other than 1/2 wheat 1/2 white flour pizza dough.
I saw that! We always called that a german chocolate cake, but maybe that was incorrect. Do you have a recipe for that one? Coincidentally, that is my dads favorite cake and his birthday is two weeks away
I was going to make a chocolate cake with coconut frosting but didn't have enough powered sugar.

DD1 & 2 are with you on that, DW and I would disagreeOf course, I have a hard time getting behind anything coconut!
Thanks. Nope, not ready. The oven is now preheating for the lasagna so the bread is back out on the counter. Guess it will be baked later tonight and eaten this weekend. You should be able to use the touch test for the dough to see if it is proofed enough.
Thanks, Ron! I looked on the index and couldn't find it.German's Chocolate cake recipe is: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/any-home-bakers-here.921333/page-874#post-18933837
The post below has a frosting recipe
Sourdough starter is good to put down the drain! The yeast will help remove clogs and if on a septic, help there tooDD1 & 2 are with you on that, DW and I would disagree

BTW, for any of you that happen to be lucky enough to have an old sink with a brass drain flange I found that sourdough starter is an excellent tarnish remover![]()
It is in the google docThanks, Ron! I looked on the index and couldn't find it.
The chickens like it too. Not sure if that is a good idea or not.Sourdough starter is good to put down the drain! The yeast will help remove clogs and if on a septic, help there too
