Made my 1st batch of English Muffins yesterday. Used the King Arthur recipe for sourdough English Muffins.

Wow, those are gorgeous! They look like you've been making them forever, and certainly not your 1st time.
Wow, thank you. I think having a kitchen scale helps a lot, so they could all be uniform in size. (?) And I'm a big fan of King Arthur recipes. They often include a blog that walks thru step by step.

I use the KA site quite a bit too. And love, love, love my kitchen scale!

They look perfect. Do you have muffin rings to make them or do they nicely form themselves into the proper shape?

I do not understand ...WHY HOLES? It make the bread easier to USE with
out so many HOLES. Taste is important. Your BREAD looks SUPER. Aria
I guess it is a texture thing. It surely is easier to make garlic bread without a bunch of holes in the bread.

I have a set of round cookie cutters, 11 in all, and one of them gave me my 3-inch diameter circle. You pat down the ball of dough so that it's just a little larger than 3-inches, and then cut. There was also a note that said that the muffins rise better if the edges are cut.

Yes! The bread that Bruce made needed a bit more cooking time. The bread looked very good and I would love to have a slice toasted with butter and honey!

I usually use a 2 inch cutter for English muffins
