Thanks for the link!

Since the recipe has commercial yeast in it, it will not be the same as sourdough made from milk. It will likely raise bread well though!

Be sure to keep it away from sourdough made from wild yeast. Commercial yeast will kill the wild yeast.

Have fun baking!
Good to know, thank you! It only keeps for a couple of weeks and is just an experiment to keep me busy. More work than I want to do on a regular basis really.

I got my starter Ron, thank you!! I just mixed it up. Is it ok if I just used a wide mouth quart jar covered with a paper towel and a jar ring?
I cover with a paper towel when it is out on the counter.

Aria's coffee filter and a rubber band would work very well too. Years ago I stored sourdough in the fridge with plastic wrap and a rubber band. Now I have a spring lid glass canning jar

Ok, thanks Aria! Is a quart jar big enough? I don’t know what else I’d use.
Yes, holds 4 cups and you only need about 2 cups. The extra space is for expansion.

YES, I have two Antique Glass Ball Jars. Like to have clean jars. After
I use the starter a while and the jar is "messy". I feed it, transfer it to a
clean jar and continue again. The used jar is easier to clean. And Penny Jo taught me to let the used jar to soak overnight. Much easier. Aria
