Any Home Bakers Here?

@igorsMistress are you baking your potato bread today? I'm really curious to hear how that turns out.
Yes I'm going to bake today. I'm making buns instead of bread, we're having homemade sloppy joes for dinner tomorrow.

That is alcohol AKA hootch. Pour it off or mix it in. Either is okay. Just add a little less water next time. As one that doesn’t measure the flour and water, I get it fairly often.
Ok thanks and I measured.
I usually check the starter....it is like making BREAD. You watch the water
and the flour. If you want it thicker....add more flour less water. You will
know soon. I do not get the liquid on top. And if you are not using the
starter often...keep in refrigerator. When you are going to bake...remove
and start feeding..then bake. It is a good idea to feed AT LEAST ONCE A
WEEK...when in the refrigerator. Your schedule is made according to your
baking schedule. YOU ARE IN CHARGE> work out your schedule.

It may seem a lot of work and not easy at first. Once you get your
schedule going...it is a breeze. ..and the Sourdough Bread is the BEST.

Did some intense math to figure out the cooking time for the duck. The duck weighs 6.6 pounds. I converted it to kg for the recipe I use. I need to cook it at 355 degrees F for 1 hour 29 minutes and 48.678 seconds.

I first need to thaw it for 48 hours, boil the fat out, then dry it for 48 hours.

After that, it's cooking time! It will make a great Sunday dinner!

Jam Filled Pastry
3 cups flour 1 cup sugar 1T yeast 1/4 tsp salt 1 egg 1/3 cup melted
butter 2/3 cup milk....mix and knead together. Cut into 16 pieces.
(use 1 T oil to roll and shape on your board so they won't stick) Roll out
one ball into a small rectangle. On the top side place 1 tsp of jam and
close (seal like a filled cookie). Cut the bottom of the rectangle with a
fancy wheel and roll the filled section to the bottom...keep rolling until
all one and just bend a little to make a horn-like shape. Brush with milk
Bake 350 oven 15 minutes. Light Golden. Remove cool just a bit and
and sprinkle with confectionery sugar.
