My cousin just started fishing today. His third fish ever, which I helped him reel in, was a Northern Pike.

He wants to eat it for lunch. Anyone got a good Pike recipe?
Filet it out, skin it. Fry up some bacon, the season it (I like cajun seasoning) dredge in corn meal and fry it up.

YUP! :drool Best lunch I've ever had was in the boundary waters of norther Minnesota. We portaged in. Carried bacon, potatoes, onion and beans with us along with cornmeal. Cleaned the fish on a rock, built a fire and it was wonderful.

ETA: We ate northern that day as well. Saved the Walleye for home.

Walleye is my favorite. I like Northern also but it’s trickier to get all the bones out without wasting alot.
