Any Home Bakers Here?

I just feel sorry for the bear that's all. I understand why game hunting is important. But still can't help having some sad feelings for the animal that looses its life. At least you are using the meat from the bear, not like trophy hunting.

I completely understand. For the record, I don’t trophy hunt. I find it very unethical and wasteful.

Anyway, I understand how you feel. If it will make you feel better, I’ll try not to post hunt photos.

I say this because in October duck and goose is coming up.

There's a saying. "You can never please everyone". You are doing it the right way for the right reasons. Post away.

@Marie2020 @Floydie

I noticed your reactions on my bear photo were negative. If I offended you two in any way, I sincerely apologize.

Jared
It's me that should apologise. The picture took me by surprise. I should have had more respect for your circumstances and culture. If an animal is a threat to your life then I would be the first to shoot especially to defend my loved ones my animals are equally included in what I say.
Since this covid there were people nearby breeding and putting dogs out for fighting. It almost ripped my heart out. There's not been a very good response to defending them here. I have tried to deal with this alone and hopefully I will succeed.
So it's me that is apologising. At least you will be eating his meat he was not killed for nothing. I must learn to contain my rash reactions, thats pretty hard for an old girl but I promise I will try ;) . I hope you can forgive me.

it’s all right. All is forgiven. If it makes you feel any better, I don’t trophy hunt. This means I don’t waste any part of the animal.

These were some tasty breadsticks! The recipe is supposed to be an Olive Garden copycat, I can't say as I haven't been there for a long time. The recipe makes 12, this is what's left after dinner last night (DH ate 4 of them  ).

Breadsticks:
1 Cup and 2 Tablespoons warm water
1 1/4 teaspoon yeast
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons oil (I used olive oil, there wasn't a particular oil specified)
3 to 3 1/2 Cups AP flour

Topping:
2 Tablespoons melted butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

* In the bowl of a stand mixer, dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water. Let sit 5-10 minutes, or until foamy. Add the salt, oil, and 2 Cup of the flour and mix until combined. Add additional flour 1/4 Cup at a time, mixing thoroughly, until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl and is soft and just tacky to the touch (takes about 7 minutes).
* Knead the dough until smooth on a lightly floured work surface, just enough to make manageable. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
* Punch down dough gently, and divide into 12 equal sized balls. Roll each ball into a 9" rope and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment or a silicone liner. Don't crowd the dough ropes, divide between 2 baking sheets. Cover and let rise another 1 hour.
* During the last 10 minutes of rise time, preheat the oven to 425*. Bake 12-14 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and brush with the melted butter mixed with the garlic salt. Serve warm.
Nice breadsticks!

Olive Garden is not close to us here.
