My Mom always put in a bottom crust when making Partridge Pie. My step-mom makes Baking Powder Biscuits instead of pie crusts, so we had Partridge in gravy on biscuits.
I love Partridge Pie, but I don't bird hunt so I will probably never have it again.

I wonder if Guinea Hen tastes like Partridge.

P.S. When I say Partridge, what I am actually talking about is Ruffed Grouse.
Guineas are absolutely delicious. Ruffed grouse are good.

The other day I was remembering my mom's magic cookie bars. Went online to find a recipe but none of them looked just right. Today I pulled out a recipe book I haven't looked at in probably a year and ta da...there was mom's recipe! All the way back from 1988. I'm going to put it here so I can find it easier, I think I'll make some to send to mom in her Christmas package this year.

Magic Cookie Bars
(makes 24-36 bars)

1/2 Cup butter
1 1/2 Cups graham cracker crumbs
1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/3 Cups flaked coconut
1 Cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350* (325* for a glass dish). In a 13x9" baking pan, melt the butter in the oven (don't burn it!).

Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over the melted butter. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs.

Top with remaining ingredients. Press down gently.

Bake 22-28 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Chill if desired. Cut into bars. Store loosely covered at room temperature.

This is the pie crust I used. I always use the lard recipe. Tenderflake make lard as well. My mother and wife have always made pie crusts using the tenderflake never fail pie crust recipe on the back of the lard container I’ll check for a link to the recipe.

Thank you for the link :)
I had a look into another recipe for pit crust that's sounded like it would be delicious. https://www.food.com/recipe/homemade-pie-crust-13619
