Nice looking bread!

Get some white rice flour for the basket. Before slashing, sprinkle some of it onto the top of the bread.

It will stop the gluten in the flour from sticking
I have some rice flour and totally forgot about it! Doh! Since it’s so easy I’m starting another one tonight! Thanks so much!

Sheppard’s pie for dinner in the oven and this one is for freezing. Sweet potatoes for topping

Here is my first attempt at Champlain bread. Instructions from the Benetton basket says it takes a couple two or three bakes till the basket is seasoned. It came out pretty deformed but puffed up better than any I’ve done so far. Still couldn’t slash worth a tinker’s dam , Brand new lame with brand new blade. Good morning folks :frow

Last night I put together some Champlain bread. Didn’t have the spelt or the rye, used white and ww. I watched a you tube video and so far it looks pretty good after 2 folds. My son gave me a Benetton basket for Christmas so I wanted to bake him a loaf for his birthday which is tomorrow. He doesn’t care much for cake so I think he’ll be pleased.
Tell your son we said happy birthday and your bread looks great
