It's white which is something I couldn't say when growing up in SW PA.

I can relate to that.

I grew up in the most southern county in West Virginia.

Everyone knows that is coal country.

I never realized how dirty it was until I moved away and would go back and when you looked at the leaves on the trees they had a black film on them from the coal dust.

Yes and the water in the rivers and creeks was orange.
