That is very interesting, as I never saw that color in the water.

The coal mines in the area where I lived had methane gas (very deadly).

When and where did you live there?
I went to college in Salem. Shortly after i graduated they started the clean up process.

Methane gas is no more deadly than any other gas. The main deadliness is the lack of oxygen. Even Nitrogen (78% in the air we breathe) is deadly if no oxygen is present.

Hydrogen Sulfide is the deadly killer.

Never again will we start the cold season before getting our furnace inspected. Our thermostat is set at 68°, but when we got home last night the main part of the house was 61°, and the master bathroom was 57°.

Thankfully, we have someone coming out on Friday and we have a home warranty, but it took waaaaaay too long for us to contact people about this. And we have space heaters to help warm things up and keep them warm.
