Any Home Bakers Here?

I bet they would
I have lots of fun things like that from when my kids were little. I even have a mothers day coupon book from my oldest who swears the sweeping and dishes coupons are no longer valid but she will make good on all the hugs.

I have a salt dough heart from my youngest, now 16 and it has his hand prints on it. still hangs on the wall.

God Bless Creative loving teachers.

Amen to that...the world could use a lot more of them!

The grinding popcorn post pushed me over the edge--I have had a kitchenaid grinder in my wish list on Amazon for quite some time now. It is shipping to me today!

I did find it in the used(open box) section for 20 bucks less which helps.

I will report on it when I use it.

I know!

I just tracked it and it is supposed to be here on Friday--just in time for weekend baking!

Hi Ron, did your KA grinder get to you? I want to hear how it works out for you (and you get bonus points for a picture or two, lol).

It is here--and like I thought it was in the original packaging with no sign that it had been removed from the box. I will be getting some red wheat to grind today and will make some bread with it.

I want to get some spelt but may need to go to Davis for it. Spelt makes great bread!

That is great. Ron!
I officially dub thee 'cool;
Roasting beans and grinding wheat, we should all be trying to this awesome.
What little awesomeness I claim as mine, I really make the bees do.

Thanks!

We are all leaning more that way because we have chickens and other poultry--A lot more than average. I doubt that I will get as much into it as beekissed though.

I've never used spelt. Do you use it like you do whole wheat?

Looking forward to hearing how the home-ground wheat goes!

Can't wait to see it in action, please post a pic when you get it going.

Never heard of spelt so had to google that one. Thanks again Ron for new information.

I tried to convince DH to let me grow grains instead of grass, Sadly he does not want the yard to look "unkept" and wheat grows too tall to look properly maintained

So I am stuck with short crab grass until we level the yard.

Maybe you could try it in a "flower bed" area, like ornamental grasses! See if that flies, lol.
