I am a newcomer yes, I cant remember when I jumped onto this thread...possibly October? I'm a sucker for braided bread, it just lifts the day a little bit more if I can make things pretty :)

Well, you inspired me! I've been wanting to make challah bread for some time now so today ... I did! These are HUGE though!

I remember you well from this thread. I read all posts on the baking thread, as they are posted.
What is throwing peeps off,, is your changed Avatar pix. Many associate the picture first as recognizing a member, and not paying attention to the name so much.
Now to change gears.
Your braided bread looks fantastic :love ,, Are you using a Challah Doug recipe??
I bake Challah every so often. I'm not sure :idunno I posted a play by play on here. Next time I bake, I will do so. I like Challah when I feel something in-between a bread, and cake mood. I usually add raisins. Like using up my extra eggs.
 
Did a little baking.
BREAD BREADSTICKS MONKEY BREAD
White wheat bread. This is not really a recipe, but an IDEA on making multiple items from same dough.

Same dough. Made seasoned breadsticks. Rolled these into logs with my hands well oiled with EVOO. The seasonings are a mix of Parmesan, Romano cheese. Sweet basil seasoning (dry) Afterwards, dusted with some sea salt on surface. (lightly)
I let sticks rise slightly (second rise about 15 minutes) before going into oven.

Out of oven after about 13 minutes. I waited until color was lightly tanned.

The rest of my dough went to make a Monkey Bread. Below is a mixture of sugar, and cinnamon. Next to the right are pieces of Dried, diced apricot fruit. I loaded each ball with a piece of apricot.

Out of oven after about 40 minutes. I baked @350°F. After 30 minutes the temp was still not my desired. Gave it another 10, and this is what I reached.
