Any Home Bakers Here?

I made black raspberry jelly today. We'll see if it gelled. It's the first time I've made it and it was a no-pectin recipe, as I don't have any pectin on hand. But it was a good day to get it done and get the berries out of the freezer and fridge.
Nice! Let us know how it turns out. I'm also making raspberry jam today, but with pectin. However, I've made strawberry jam and peach jam without pectin before, and I liked that it was a little more runny! It's still delicious. Maybe yours will gel up though :)

That is what I have also. Cant make any cheese from this clear liquid.
We use in baking breads, (not cakes),, Use ½ part of liquid when cooking rice. Also we cook a variety of soups. Use varying amounts there.
I freeze in ziplock baggies. easily stored in portion size quantities in freezer.
I don't like to waste anything ether,, especially since whey has good nutritional healthy content. :thumbsup
Using it in rice and freezing it are some great ideas! Thank you!

pectin is an insurance policy! If it does not jell, tell people that you canned some syrup.

We have blackberries ....and they NEED A LOT LONGER TO RIPEN in NYS. There were a lot of beautiful white flowers...
meaning ....lots of berries. Looking forward to someone picking when they are ready. I am sure my family will.
Blackberries are very easy to grow here!

OK, I made it up to where I am staying in North Idaho safely. Believe it or not, I almost didn’t make it. Four hours away from my destination, while I was in the middle of nowhere, this happened.

It was a miracle that I made it. We’re taking the car to a dealer tomorrow.
