Any Home Bakers Here?

It's coconut fat.  I just looked it up and it says that it's produced only in Australia.  I did not know that.  Copha is used in the Australian staple food known as chocolate crackles.

(ignore the weird-looking photo, they are different in real life)

Didn't know that's what it was! Apparently you can try substituting coconut butter whatever that is but shortening (which it looks and feels like) is a sad flavourless substitution

Oh and that photo is pretty much what ours look like if you mean the little one on the recipe? Wanna know something sad, made chocolate crackles for one of my kids birthday parties and hardly any of the kids knew what they were :-(. Seems the only recognise stuff out of packets these days....

Hope I didn't stuff this recipe up. It said 15g yeast which is about 6 teaspoons of my dried stuff or almost 3 x what I'd put in a loaf of bread so I figured they must have meant that compressed stuff so I put 2 teaspoons instead. It's not rising much though..........

Thanks, I had no idea what it was.

I just noticed looking at the box of cereal in the recipe...here in the States, that's called Rice Krispies and you call it Rice Bubbles.

Well it kinda worked
800

Got a bit well done though, definatly needed a shorter cooking time than the recipe.

It was much denser too so maybe it did need that 15g of yeast. Seems an awful lot though.

Flavour wise it was really really nice and I think I'm going to have to give it another try. The filling was super yum!

Took me all day though and I couldn't help wondering if it would be easier to go buy one for $8 at the bakery lol

That looks great.

Ohhhhh look what I just found in my Molly dye survival manual while looking how to remove lipstick stains. A bee sting recipe! Yummo!!

Making it now!

Edited to add baking for 3/4 hr at 200c was too long. Five minutes before my timer went off I could smell it starting to burn. So probably closer to 35 minutes.

And my chocolate hot cross buns. Turned out yummy!

Very common flavor in the shops over here now days.
